Cameron was born and raised in the town of Lunenburg. He earned his first degree at Saint Mary's University in Halifax while working in various restaurants around the city. During this time he unintentionally became the in-house cook for all of his roommates. Knowing the kitchen was where his heart was, Cameron graduated university and began cooking full-time at a high-end catering company in Ontario. While honing his skills, Cameron realized not only was he a lover of all things culinary but he was in fact, a self-diagnosed gluten addict. He went on to attend pastry school at NSCC, while catering small events on the side.
Upon graduation, Cameron began focusing on private events, as well as partnering in opening a brewery-based restaurant. After a couple years of balancing long restaurant hours with catering special events, Cameron and his wife Abby decided it was time to begin a new journey with Cam's Coastal Catering as a full-time passion.
Family and food have always gone hand in hand for Cameron. He grew up with elaborate Sunday dinners with his parents and sisters, and trips exploring the places and flavours of the world. Cameron met his partner Abby while both working in restaurants on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Together they have over 20 years of experience in the service industry, working both sides of the counter. Cam's Coastal Catering combines Abby's love of people and Cameron's love of food to create a business which they get to specialize in both. Don't let their experience fool you though. The real person in charge is their daughter Violet.
